Tony Cabrera

Class of 2006, Bachelor's



Tony Cabrera is an entertainment correspondent for "On The Red Carpet," a weekly entertainment news show, which airs in major cities across the country and in various regions across the globe!

He is a California native, born and raised in San Jose. Eventually he moved down to Los Angeles where he graduated with a broadcast journalism degree from the University of Southern California.

Tony started his career as an intern with Dateline NBC, working on high-profile national stories - even interviewing celebrities on Oscar night. He then moved on to ABC Network News where he assisted on various shows including World News and Good Morning America. From there he moved over to KABC in Los Angeles, working behind the scenes and learning every aspect of local news.  His first on-air job was in Toledo, Ohio as a fill-in news reporter where he also produced local newscasts.  Then he moved to Tucson, Arizona as a full-time general assignment reporter.

Now back in Hollywood, he's interviewed some of the world's biggest celebrities, including Tom Cruise, Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Barbra Streisand, Bruce Willis and Kristen Stewart.

What is your advice to aspiring journalists?:

Following your dreams means following your gut.



What should graduates keep in mind when negotiating their first job?:

There won’t be any negotiating. They’re taking a risk with you. You’re not Marc Brown or Michelle Tuzee.
