Ariana Duarte

Class of 2006, Bachelor's



Ariana Duarte was born and raised in San Diego and graduated with a degree in Broadcast Journalism from the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Southern California.

She began her career as an intern for the NBC Investigative Unit in Burbank, CA. While attending USC, Ariana worked as a bilingual reporter for ATVN, covering breaking news stories in Los Angeles, San Diego, and Mexico.

After working as an anchor/reporter for an NBC affiliate in Northern California, Ariana joined KMPH, the FOX affiliate in Fresno, where she anchored the weekday prime-time newscast and helped to progressively and consistently boost ratings.

Ariana currently works at KGTV, the ABC affiliate in her hometown of San Diego.

Ariana loves meeting new people and telling their stories. Some of her most memorable experiences include interviewing inmates behind bars, reporting from a Tijuana orphanage, covering homelessness issues from Skid Row, speaking to Oprah Winfrey, and investigating gang warfare throughout California.

Ariana is a member of The National Association of Hispanic Journalists and the Radio-Television News Directors Association.

Ariana is fluent in Spanish and enjoys traveling, writing, running, listening to Mariachi music, and spending time with her husband.
