Lisa Remillard

Class of 2003, Master's

Lisa Remillard is a two time Emmy Award nominated journalist who joined the Good Morning San Diego team in March 2014 as Weekend Anchor.

Before coming to California, she was the Morning and Midday anchor for ABC Action News in Las Vegas. While there, her biggest accomplishment was being the only television journalist ever granted access to the top secret Weapons School training facility at Nellis Air Force Base. It is the place where the best of the best in the Air Force learn how to fight. Not only was she granted access to the school, its instructors and its students, but she was also allowed to ride along in an F15e during a mock training exercise. She is most proud of being able to pull 8 Gs and NOT pass out!  Well that, and a second Emmy Nomination.

Before Las Vegas, Lisa spent five years in Florida. She spent a short time as a reporter at WTXL in Tallahassee and then three years as a reporter at WFTS in Tampa-St.Petersburg. There she covered some of the biggest stories in the country including dozens of hurricanes.  Because of her stories highlighting crimes of video voyeurism, and her work with a state Senator, the Florida law was changed to make the crime of video voyeurism against children a felony. Lisa received her first Emmy nomination for coverage of the Lake County Florida Tornado devastation.

Lisa earned both a Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism and a Master's degree in Strategic Public Relations from the University of Southern California. Lisa proudly donned the Rose Court princess tiara for the 1997 Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade and Rose Bowl game.

She was born and raised in Southern California in a strong Italian family and is thrilled to be back at home. When she's not chasing down stories, you can find her volunteering for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and Welcome Inn Ministries feeding those down on their luck. She's an amateur foodie and is always looking for a great restaurant. But during football season, you'll most likely find her cheering on her beloved USC Trojans team. Fight On!
