Lori Brown joined Action News 5 as a General Assignment Reporter in December 2007.
Before moving to Memphis she was a reporter on California’s Central Coast at KCOY CBS. At KCOY she covered news across San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties for over four years.
One of her stories exposed the fact that school volunteers in California aren’t required to undergo background checks. As a result of her story, a state assemblyman introduced legislation to address the problem.
Lori graduated Cum Laude from the University of Southern California with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and Political Science.

How did ATVN prepare you for your career?:
ATVN taught me how to dig up a story, get out and get it, and write and edit it all in under four hours. I still use those same skills every day.

What is your advice to aspiring journalists?:
