Tina Patel

Class of 1999, Bachelor's

If you are an early riser, you can catch Tina Patel reporting weekdays for Action News This Morning.

Tina is used to being up before the sun.  She was part of the morning news team at Channel 13’s sister station in Palm Springs.  While there, she reported on major news stories like the Southern California wildfires and the death of former President Ford.  But she also got to have some fun, covering the Palm Springs International Film Festival and new attractions at Disneyland and Sea World.  Tina is excited about working mornings in Las Vegas now, since it is more of a 24-hour city.  There’s always something going on here!

Tina was born and raised in New Jersey, but she moved west to attend the University of Southern California.  Since then, her news career has taken her throughout Southern California, Texas and the U.S. Virgin Islands.  She loves that working as a reporter and anchor has allowed her to explore different areas of the country and to meet lots of different people.

When Tina and her husband got married in 2005, they decided Las Vegas was the perfect place for friends and family from around the country to gather.  Now that they call the city home, they’re betting a lot of those friends and family members will be coming back out to visit.
