Cassie Jasso is excited to be back at ATVN for her final year! She is a senior majoring in broadcast and digital journalism and minoring forensics and criminality, with an emphasis in Spanish. She is currently the weather anchor on Tuesday and a reporter on Thursday for ATVN.

Cassie began her career at ATVN the fall semester of her freshman year working at the assignment desk and since has worked as a producer, web producer, assignment desk coordinator, multimedia journalist and playback operator. 

For her final semester, Cassie returned to intern with KABC-7, this time with health specialist Denise Dador. She writes VO's and packages under Denise's direction. Previously, Cassie interned for entertainment reporter George Pennacchio writing packages, researching stories and interviewing celebrities on the red carpet.

This summer, Cassie had the opportunity to get an understanding of a different side of the entertainment industry and interned for Yari Film Group working in the creative and international sales departments. She wrote coverage for potential films and assisted in researching actors, actresses and directors. 

Cassie has also interned at Univision and Hollywire.com in Los Angeles. Working in the promotions department at Univision, she assisted in planning and attending Street Team events that promoted the station and spoke Spanish to viewers. She also worked closely with the producer of the television program "Tu Estilo" and helped him book guests for the show. At Hollywire.com, she wrote entertainment news blogs and participated in re-designing the Web site. 

Cassie has also worked as a producer for the Trojan Vision show CU@USC where she booked multiple guests and organized the structure of the interview with the host.

Apart from her studies at USC, Cassie has a passion for traveling. Most recently she studied abroad at City University London this past spring semester. She had the opportunity to travel to Prague, Dublin, Normandy and Cannes for the Cannes Film Festival.
