As an aspiring foreign correspondent, Lauren enjoys international travel and has spent the past two summers working in Asia. She started as an intern at The Japan Times in Tokyo, where she wrote several articles, filmed and edited video features and managed the newspaper's social media presence. Following her experience in Japan, Lauren worked at Time Out Shanghai magazine in Shanghai, China as the travel, arts and culture publication launched its website and social media operations.
This September, Lauren will travel to Boston to participate in the Online News Association's annual conference. Selected as one of twenty students working in the ONA's Student Newsroom, she will cover the conference using a variety of digital tools, including social media, video and audio pieces and interactive text and graphics.
In addition to her experience at ATVN, Lauren also mentors local elementary school children as a Troy Camp counselor and serves as an ambassador of the USC Alumni Association as a member of Society 53.
