Third Times a Charm
Monday was a big day for the website. My goal was to get stories up faster. By 12, I had seven stories up and had web journalists in the process of writing three more.
I had reporters tweeting @atvn so that we could retweet them from the account, and I had finally remembered to do the noon tease for the show. That being said, I still had some mistakes on some stories that I had copy-edited. This relates to a past blog post where I admitted that copy-editing could be my downfall.
After passing the web off to the afternoon web producer I started working on graphics. One of the main things I noticed when making graphics, was that I needed to double check the final graphic with the script.
For the story on the California high speed rail, we had a FS graphic that had a route of the train from San Francisco to Los Angeles. While this is relevant to the slug, the original script focused on the local aspects of the train from one part of LA to another. Because there was a difference between the two elements, I changed the script to better depict our graphic.
This week started with a rough morning meeting, but resulted in a show that I think we are all proud of.
