Breaking NEWS is hard to do!

TAGS:

One thing I've always loved about the news is it can happen at any time. For Team Wednesday, it happened after 5pm -- less than an hour before our very FIRST live on-air show -- when we heard that a suspect in the stabbing of USC student Bryan Frost had been arrested.

It seemed like everyone instantly knew we had a new lead story, since Frost was a fellow Trojan and the incident happened right in our backyard. So with a lot of hard work and a little luck, we hustled and got everything in just in time... Even that last-minute SOT of DPS Capt. Carlisle. Amazing! I'm not going to lie... I was biting my nails the entire time! But our lead producer Matt did a wonderful job getting everything together. We're fortunate enough to have a GREAT group on Wednesdays, so THANK YOU to everyone in the newsroom and studio who helped out during the madness! The show really couldn't have happened without you.

Overall, the show went very well. Matt, Catherine and I learned a lot from run-through week, and I think we did a lot better in communicating with each other and helping each other out. I'm thrilled with the way the show turned out. We set the bar high for Wednesdays with this first show. I can't wait to see what next week brings us.
