Sebastian LaRue Decommits from USC
Wide receiver recruit Sebastian LaRue has officially decommitted from USC, the player announced on Twitter Wednesday afternoon.
LaRue, a wide receiver out of Santa Monica High School, had been verbally committed to the Trojans since the summer. LaRue is ranked as a four-star recruit and the 32nd wide receiver in the nation by the recruiting analysis website Rivals.com.
However, the news doesn't come as much of a shock. LaRue's commitment to USC was never considered especially solid. Furthurmore, LaRue wants to play wide receiver as a freshman. At USC, he would be likely switched to defensive back or redshirted. The Trojans have significant depth at wide receiver with Marquise Lee, Nelson Agholor and George Farmer all returning, as well as high hopes for redshirt freshman Victor Blackwell.
LaRue is expected to look closely at UCLA, Washington State and Texas A&M.
USC still retians seventh-ranked wide receiver Steven Mitchell, from Bishop Alemany High School in Mission Hills, as a part of their recruiting class. He commited over the summer and is scheduled to take an official visit the first weekend of spring semester.
