Producers

Practice Makes (Almost) Perfect

This week our newscast ran much more smoothly than last week and I think a large part of that was due to the fact that we are learning to work better together as a team. My producers and I communicated much more throughout the day and went through the run down together several times to make sure that everyone was on the same page. We are also learning to work better with the MJs and reporters by identifying certain strengths and weaknesses to better capitalize on each person’s talent.

To produce quality newscasts we will need to continue to have better communication, especially between the producers throughout the day.

I think we are starting to better understand the roles that each producer has and so we are better able to help each other, especially as it gets later in the day. I look forward to going through each producer role so I am even more aware of the various responsibilities.

As web producer next week, I hope to improve my efficiency so that I can get certain things done earlier in the day in order to have more time at the end of the day for finishing touches.
