An Interesting Day

TAGS:

This day was probably one of the toughest I have had at ATVN, but for unusual reasons.

My story seemed fun and interesting, covering the opening day of the Dodgers. Seems simple enough, right? That's what I thought too, until I got kicked out of Dodgers Stadium for not having a permit to shoot.

After driving around for a while (and sitting in about an hour of traffic) I ended up at a local park where people were not really supposed to be tailgating, but were. I was pretty relieved because I thought I could get some great fan interviews, and my story would be saved.

Well I got the interviews, but it was tough. I hate to say this as a woman, but my day was really proof that it is always nice to have a producer or a camera person with you. Preferably a big, tough scary man.

Almost all of the Dodgers fans there were drunk men, and they wouldn't stop following me around, yelling crude things to me or making inappropriate comments. Usually it wouldn't have really bothered me but after two hours of fending them off by myself, it got pretty frustrating and put a pretty big damper on my day.

But I gave myself a pep talk in the car, came back and put together a story I am proud of.
