Bio:

Ariana Duarte was born and raised in San Diego and graduated with a degree in Broadcast Journalism from the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Southern California.

She began her career as an intern for the NBC Investigative Unit in Burbank, where she enterprised and assisted in producing various stories, including an investigative sweeps piece. While at USC, Ariana was also a bilingual reporter for ATVN, covering breaking news stories in Los Angeles, San Diego, and Mexico.

After working for a year as reporter and weekend anchor for the NBC affiliate in Eureka, Ariana joined the KMPH Ten O’Clock News team.

Ariana loves meeting new people and telling their stories. Some of her most memorable experiences include interviewing inmates inside a Los Angeles Correctional Facility, reporting from a Tijuana orphanage, covering homelessness issues from Skid Row, speaking to Oprah Winfrey, and reporting on gang problems throughout California.

Ariana loves her family and enjoys visiting her parents, grandparents, brother and sister in San Diego. She also enjoys attending church, watching Oprah, traveling, reading, writing, listening to Mariachi music, and playing with her doberman, “Friend Walter” and her pomeranian, “Nacho.”
