Evelyn Taft

Bio: Evelyn Taft is the weekend anchor/weather forecaster for KCOY CBS 12 News at 6 and 11 p.m. She also reports during the week for the Noon, 5 and 6 p.m newscasts.
Born and raised in the Bay Area, Evelyn grew up speaking only Russian with her Moscow-born parents. As a young girl, she learned english by watching ‘The Weather Channel’ religiously. She’s also fluent in French.
An avid traveler, Evelyn has visited several different continents including most of Europe, Israel, Hong Kong, Thailand and Belize in Central America.
While getting her broadcast journalism and political science degrees at USC, Evelyn reported news and forecasted the weather for the school’s television station. It was there she rediscovered her fascination with weather.
Evelyn recently completed an internship at ABC 7 in Los Angeles, where she interviewed celebrities on the red-carpet and helped reporters in the field. She also managed to sneak away to their weather department from time-to-time, learning about forecasting from their veteran meteorologists.
She’s also interned for FOX News Channel in Los Angeles and London.
In her spare time, she enjoys sailing, music and hanging out with her pug Rocco.
