ATVN positions and duties:

Fall 2004- Graphics Artist
Spring 2005- Graphics Artist, Editor
Fall 2004- Spring 2007: Trojan Vision Station Operations (in charge of flipping the switch to turn on ATVN smile )

How did ATVN prepare you for your current job?

ATVN was a part of my initial voyage into television production. ATVN gave me a view into the workings of a television newsroom.

What is your advice to aspiring journalists?

Every job counts. Even the The experience at ATVN showed me that even though I was not a W/S/E I had a role in the final project that I could be proud of.

What are the top three skills college journalism students should be working on in order to be prepared for their first broadcasting job?

Get involved in a variety of activities, not just the most glamorous ones. Take a look behind the scenes, that is where some of the most interesting things happen.
