Bio: Leslie Tang is the Hong Kong Correspondent for Channel NewsAsia. An Asian TV news channel based in Singapore, Channel NewsAsia broadcasts across the Asia-Pacific region.
She covers the top stories in Hong Kong as well as business and feature stories.
Leslie also occasionally presents the nightly East Asian stock market reports from the Hong Kong studio.
Before joining Channel NewsAsia, Leslie was a reporter, late news anchor and weather anchor for the English news department of local Hong Kong broadcaster, Asia Television.
She has interned at the Los Altos Town Crier (newspaper) in Los Altos, CA and CNBC Asia in Hong Kong.

How did ATVN prepare you for your current job?
Being a “one-man-band” deal so you can learn how to put together all the elements to a story on a deadline. Even though I don’t have to do all the shooting or editing now, I still have to direct the crew on what I need, and I wouldn’t know how to without the experience of doing it all myself.
What is your advice to aspiring journalists?
Build contacts. It really helped to know people in the field to mentor me during the job search time. Also make sure to take advantage of Annenberg’s resources to make a good resume tape.
