More than 200 janitors from the Service Employees International Union filled Universal CityWalk today to demand more working hours.
Although the janitors make more than the California minimum wage, they are only allowed to work a maximum of 30 hours per week. Several janitors told ATVN’s Collin Robinson that this limit keeps them below the poverty line and makes providing for their families difficult. The janitors have been living with these working conditions for more than two years now.
NBC Universal declined to comment on the protest.
