Lindsay Lohan was sentenced to 90 days in jail Tuesday in the Beverly Hills courthouse for her failure to attend court-ordered drug and alcohol education classes.
Lohan, who has struggled with drugs, alcohol and rehab since her days as a child actor, teared up when sentenced by Superior Court Judge Marsha Revel.
Lohan reportedly missed nine court-ordered alcohol education meetings.
She will be expected to turn herself in to police July 20 to begin her sentence. Lohan will also be expected to enter another rehab program after the 90 days have passed.
She was sentenced to three years’ probation in 2007, but asked for a one-year extension in October 2009 to make up for incomplete alcohol education classes.
Lohan was fitted for an alcohol-monitoring ankle bracelet in May after missing a court date.
Since that time, the monitor’s alarm has sounded a handful of times, including when Lohan attended an MTV Movie Awards after-party.
Lohan said she did not drink that night.
The “Mean Girls” star spent 84 minutes in jail in 2007 after pleaing guilty to two misdemeanor counts of using cocaine and no contest to two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol. She also pleaded no contest to one count of reckless driving.
