Asim is currently a junior majoring in Broadcast Journalism, and is pursuing a minor in Middle East Studies.
After transferring in from Santa Monica College a year ago, he immediately immersed himself into ATVN graphics working as an artist in his first semester, an Art Director Shadow in his second semester and finally grabbing the position as co-Art Director in his third semester.
Asim has been deeply absorbed with all things graphics and technology as far back as his middle school years up in the Valley, where he was born and raised. He has been a freelance photographer and web designer for several years and also currently works at Moving Pictures Magazine, a film magazine based in Santa Monica, where he photographs red carpet events and Q&A’s, as well as contributes to the magazine’s Web site.
In his free time, Asim watches more movies than his brain can recall – he currently has a DVD collection of more than 500 DVDs – and he watches way too much television. His favorite shows are Seinfeld, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien, the latter of which he religiously watches every morning to a bowl of Rice Krispies.
Asim wants to pursue a career in either film or photography, or perhaps even both, after graduating from USC.
