Beth Palkovic is Thursday’s weather anchor, marking her debut as an ATVN anchor.
Palkovic currently interns for KNBC’s political unit, for which she has helped with the 2008 Presidential election coverage. She is happy to be back in Burbank, as she spent a summer there working for NBC’s affiliate feeder service, Newschannel, for which she helped with NBC’s coverage of the 58th annual Emmy awards.
Palkovic has also dedicated much of her time to Trojan Vision Television’s “Platforum” debate/discussion show. Her sophomore year, she executive produced the show, and she now serves as the host and managing editor on Wednesdays, which is dedicated to politics, foreign affairs, and legal issues. She also covers all things politics in her column in the Daily Trojan, which runs on Mondays.
Outside of news and politics, Palkovic holds philanthropy and community service chair positions in various organizations on campus, including Alpha Chi Omega sorority, Lambda Pi Eta communication honor society, and Phi Alpha Delta pre-law fraternity. She is also the treasurer of Rho Lambda women’s honor society.
At ATVN, Palkovic has previously held positions as an associate producer, reporter, writer/shooter/editor, graphics designer, camera operator, and assignment editor. Palkovic is a junior broadcast journalism and psychology double major, looking forward to law school and a career in journalism focusing on law and politics.
