Cate Cauguiran joins the ATVN family as this semester’s News Anchor on Tuesdays, Producer on Thursdays and Art Director.

Cate began her ATVN career as a graphic artist and later as a Writer / Shooter / Editor.

Cate is a senior double majoring in Broadcast Journalism and International Relations with focuses in Foreign Policy Analysis and Culture, Gender and Global Civil Society. In addition to working at ATVN, Cate keeps her schedule busy as an intern for NBC Nightly News in Burbank, a College Ambassador, a USC Tour Guide, a USC Helene, intern for the College of Letters, Arts and Sciences admission office, and a member of USC’s Chapter of RTNDA.

The summer before her senior year, Cate interned for NBC Nightly News in New York. During this internship she was able to assist on a interview shoot with Ann Curry and the late former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.

Cate has interned at KCBS2/KCAL9 in Hollywood and as worked with the Armed Forces Network at Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan as a host for a cable show.

A proud Navy baby, Cate was born in San Diego and before she could even tie her own shoes, her and her family were stationed overseas in Japan at age three where they moved around until coming to California to join the Trojan Family.

She believes broadcast journalism is the perfect symphony of visuals and writing that has one of the greatest potentials for change in our nation.  Being raised in multiple cultures overseas, combined with her love crusader journalism Cate hopes to pursue a career as a humanitarian/ war and conflict reporter.
