Katie is finishing her master’s at Annenberg and currently serves as Monday’s Executive Producer, Tuesday’s director, and the web coordinator. She’s majoring in Broadcast Journalism, minoring in communication law and media policy, and concurrently pursuing a master’s in Online Journalism.
Katie started at ATVN’s assignment desk four years ago. Since then, she’s spent multiple semesters as a producer and a writer/shooter/editor, and has done nearly every position in the studio including director, technical director, and teleprompter.
This past summer, Katie interned for NBC Dateline, where she spent most of her time in court with the rest of the media covering the Phil Spector trial. She has also interned twice at NBC’s Seattle affiliate, KING-TV, as well as here in Los Angeles at Good Morning America, CNBC, California Connected, and KCAL/CBS2. Katie got her start in journalism as a Cherub at Northwestern and as horoscope writer for her high school newspaper.
Outside of ATVN, Katie is Co-Director of the Annenberg Ambassadors and a producer for Annenberg Radio News. She was born and raised on the Eastside of Seattle. Katie loves boating, watching Grey’s Anatomy, baking with her roommates, and taking trips to Orange County.
Ultimately, Katie would love to produce for either a daily news show or a newsmagazine.
