Melissa Pazornik is a senior majoring in broadcast journalism and is one of five broadcast majors chosen to be in the Annenberg Honors Program. She is proud to serve Annenberg TV News as weather anchor on Tuesdays and a news reporter on Thursdays.

Melissa’s work at USC made her a finalist for the William Randolph Hearst Foundation’s award for outstanding college broadcast journalist. Her feature stories have been nominated for the Society of Professional Journalists’ Mark of Excellence Awards, the college version of SPJ’s Sigma Delta Chi Awards. Melissa has also been on the Dean’s List every semester at USC.

Most recently, Melissa interned in the KNBC Special Projects and Investigative Unit in Los Angeles, where she worked with Investigative Reporter Joel Grover. In addition, she has held internships at “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” (ABC), “Entertainment Tonight"/"The Insider” (CBS Paramount) and 93.1 JACK FM. (KCBS/Infinity Broadcasting). She also helped CNN in January with the Democratic Primary Debates in Los Angeles.

In past years at ATVN, Melissa has been a reporter, writer/shooter/editor, camera operator and playback operator in the studio. She has also been Vice President and Membership Chair for Lambda Pi Eta, the National Honors Society for Journalism, Communications and Public Relations.

Melissa is originally from Huntington Beach, CA. In her free time, she enjoys writing, going to music concerts, traveling, doing yoga and playing with her dogs. This summer after she graduates, she will be working for NBC Universal, helping cover the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.
