Patrick Becker is a senior at USC, majoring in Communication with a Journalism minor. He is currently Wednesday’s Executive Producer and Thursday’s Director.
Patrick has worked at ATVN since his first semester as a Trojan, doing everything he can in front of and behind the camera. In the newsroom, Patrick has been a W/S/E, reporter, and producer. In the studio, he’s previously worked as a playback operator, technical director, and director.
Between semesters, Patrick has spent his summers interning for the Alphabet and the Peacock. Sorry CBS. This past summer, he interned at KABC in the Web Department (abc7.com) where he uploaded stories and video, sent out breaking news alerts to your email inbox, and coordinated live streams of brushfires, car chases, and anything else with good pictures. Before that, Patrick interned with NBC NewsChannel, calling up affiliates, pitching, and writing stories from all over the region. He also helped out NBC’s coverage of the Emmy’s last August at the Shrine.
Patrick has lived in Redondo Beach in the South Bay his whole life, and tries to escape back there every once in a while to eat at the best Mexican restaurant in the world and get away from the oppressive inland heat. When he’s not at ATVN, you may find him watching too much TV, playing the guitar, or wearing his 2nd degree black belt in Taekwondo.
After graduation, Patrick hopes to continue producing local news in a market not too far from sunny Southern California.
