Sam Farber is a 2nd year masters student majoring in Broadcast Journalism, and he is very excited to be your Wednesday sports Anchor.
During his two years at USC Sam has been very busy on and off campus. Last fall he produced and reported for the inaugural semester of Annenberg Radio News. Outside of Annenberg, Sam is in his second season as the play-by-play announcer for Cal State Northridge baseball, and women’s basketball. He is also the broadcast engineer for Southern California’s Morning News on KNX 1070, and interns at Fox Sports.
Prior to coming to Los Angeles, Sam was the voice of the Bowie Baysox (AA affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles) for three seasons. He graduated from the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. in 2006. While there he worked heavily at radio station WRGW, where he was sports director, a sports talk show host, and lead play-by-play announcer. Sam called games at two NCAA tournaments with the Colonials.
Sam is a proud native of San Jose, California, his broadcasting hero is ESPN’s Mike Patrick, and he plans to spend his career courtside as a play-by-play announcer.
