March Madness, Live from Omaha

By Jeff Platt

Coming to you from the beautiful city of Omaha, Nebraska, for this one folks. We’re about 4 hours away from USC’s 1st-round NCAA Tournament matchup against Kansas St. at the Qwest Center (Creighton’s home arena).

This is a scary #6-#11 matchup. Michael Beasley is Kansas St’s star player, and he will most likely be named the NCAA Player of the Year. He has put up absolutely insane numbers for the Wildcats this season...as a FRESHMAN. He will be a top-3 draft pick if he leaves school after this season. Look for USC to try to stop him with a combination of Taj Gibson and Davon Jefferson.

A huge key for ‘SC in this one is to take advantage of K-State’s weaker backcourt. Expect for the Trojans to employ that full-court press we’ve seen in the last few weeks of the season. This might also put Beasley out of position.

Basically, OJ Mayo has the chance to dominate this game, and if he does--USC will move onto the 2nd round of March Madness.

Thx for reading

-Jeff
