Jamie Oliver Brings Healthy Cooking To Long Beach

LONG BEACH –Jamie Oliver’s “Big Rig Teaching Kitchen” set up shop Monday in Long Beach for a nine-week stint, promising free nutrition and home cooking classes.
Long Beach is the second stop the truck will be making on its yearlong road trip that is expected to reach about 2,500 children.
In conjunction with the California Endowment, the Rig will offer a five-week class that will teach children 8 years and older healthy eating, portion control and the importance of homemade meals.
The classes are a new initiative from celebrity chef’s Jamie Oliver’s Food Foundation, an organization dedicated to combatting obesity and supporting food education.
