Job Prospects Look Promising at Career Fair
The main career center on campus is hosting their career fair today from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Trousdale Parkway.
Many potential employers will be present to accept resumes and answer questions. More than 150 companies are scheduled to be present at the event including Kraft foods, Hulu and Target.
In the national job market, the number of people applying for unemployment benefits fell last week, though the decline isn't enough to signal improvement in the job market.
Weekly applications dropped by 9,000 to a seasonally adjusted 423,000, the Labor Department said Thursday.
Applications typically need to fall below 375,000 to signal sustainable job growth. They haven't been that low since February.
