WeHo Kicks Off Breast Cancer Awareness Month

West Hollywood City Council proclaimed October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The City of West Hollywood launched Breast Cancer Awareness Month at a public celebration Monday, offering free screenings and announcing a host of events.

“It remains important that we take the time, this month and throughout the year, to continue to raise awareness and provide the most current information possible regarding breast cancer,” City Councilmember Abbe Land said in a statement.

“Breast cancer remains one of the leading causes of death for women, and its impact on friends, families and communities cannot be overstated.”

The city will also host a Breast Cancer Educational Forum on Oct. 26 from noon to 2 p.m. at the National Council of Jewish Women on 543 N. Fairfax Avenue.
