Free Apps For BlackBerry Users

RIM will give away $100 worth of free apps to BlackBerry users.

Research in Motion (RIM) announced today it will be giving away about $100 worth of premium apps to its BlackBerry users as an expression of appreciation for their patience during last week's service disruptions.

Millions of BlackBerry users were unable to send or receive messages last week due to service outages that swept the world.

"Our global network supports communications needs of more than 70 million customers," said RIM Co-CEO Mike Lazaridis.  "We truly appreciate and value our relationship with our customers.  We've worked hard to earn their trust over the past 12 years and we're committed to providing the high standard of reliability they expect, today and in the future."

The complete selection of apps will be available to download at BlackBerry App World over a period of four weeks, beginning this Wednesday.  Some of the selections will include: SIMS 3, Texas Hold'em Poker 2, Bejeweled, iSpeech Translator PRo and Vlingo Plus: Virtual Assistant.
