Obama to Appear on 'The Tonight Show'

Obama was the first sitting president to join Leno for a late night chat, when he appeared on the show on March 19, 2009

President Obama will make a late night appearance on "The Tonight Show" Tuesday.

The announcement of Obama's West Coast visit came via tweet from White House communications director Dan Pfeiffer. Obama will be arriving on Monday and will preside over two fundraising efforts for his re-election campaign and the Democratic National Committee.

Obama was the first sitting president to join Leno for a late night chat when he appeared on the show on March 19, 2009. His appearance was made memorable by his comment comparing his bowling score of 129, out of a possible 300 maximum, to Special Olympics. Obama called the chairman of Special Olympics, Timothy Shriver, to apologize before the episode aired.

This will be his fourth visit on the show and his second since entering the White House.
