Police Searching for Santa Monica Hit-and-Run Driver

The vehicle-in-question is a 2009-2011 charcoal gray Toyota Camry.

Santa Monica Police are searching for the suspect in a fatal hit-and-run accident that occurred early Wednesday morning.

The victim who is believed to have been around 65-70 years old, died at the scene, after being hit by a Toyota Camry while crossing the street at 5:50 a.m. on the corner of Lincoln Blvd and Santa Monica Blvd.

Police said the man was jaywalking when he was hit and thrown 30 feet. The driver did have a green light at the time of the accident.

The vehicle-in-question is described as a 2009-2011 charcoal gray Toyota Camry, similar to the vehicle pictured. Parts of the passenger-side mirror were found near the scene of the accident and the hood and front of the car are believed to be damaged.
