Lindsay Lohan was released from a Los Angeles County jail early Monday morning, cutting what should have been a 30-day sentence short due to jail overcrowding.

The actress was booked into the Century Regional Detention facility in Lynwood at 8:50 Sunday night after turning herself in to serve the sentence for violating probation, but was released and back in her Venice home less than five hours later.

Lohan had been given until Nov. 9 to serve her jail sentence so that the actress could complete a nude photoshoot for Playboy magazine.

It was Lohan's fifth jail sentence since being arrested twice for drunken driving in 2007.

The judge sentenced Lohan to 423 hours of community service at the county morgue, where she has been cleaning bathrooms and washing dirty sheets.

Failure to complete her community service hours could result in an additional 270 days in jail.

Also included in Lohan's sentence are psychotherapy sessions and monthly appearances at court between December and March.

Lohan is no longer allowed to leave the country and has to obtain permission from her probation officer to travel outside California.
