According to the USC Department of Public Safety, one vehicle was exiting a parallel parking spot facing west on Jefferson Avenue when a second vehicle, traveling westbound, collided into the first car and then flipped over.

The two drivers, both male, walked away from the accident and denied medical treatment. There were no passengers.

The accident occurred shortly before 7 p.m.

The driver in the vehicle traveling westbound on Jefferson Blvd is a USC staff member, according to DPS.

The driver of the vehicle exiting the parking spot declined to give his name, but spoke with ATVN about the accident.

He said prior to exiting the parking spot, he looked back toward the intersection of Jefferson Blvd and Figueroa St, and said he did not see the other vehicle.

"I only saw one car all the way across the intersection," he said. "I stopped looking back because it was clear. By the time I saw him, he was right there."

A third vehicle parked nearby sustained minor damage.

DPS said they have not yet determined if the speed or angle of impact was the cause of the rollover.
