The L.A. County Board of Supervisors plans on asking Governor Brown to declare a local state of emergency for the San Pedro Landslide.

Mayor Villaraigosa and Rep. Janice Hahn said Tuesday that they will do everything they can to protect the San Pedro area from futher damage.

City officials are planning on closing public access to the San Pedro nature park due to predicted rain for Thursday.
