Super Committee or Super Fail?

The super committee formed to address U.S. debt failed at its task.

Congress’s Super Committee officially announced Monday its members have failed to reach an agreement.

The committee was created this summer in response to the United State’s debt-ceiling crisis and was expected to cut at least $1.2 trillion from the budget over the next ten years. However, the panel of 12 (six republicans and six democrats) have been disagreeing from the beginning over taxes and government benefit cuts to popular programs like unemployment aid and Medicare.

The panel's two co-chairs, Senator Patty Murray and Representative Jeb Hensarling, responded, saying, "despite our inability to bridge the committee's significant differences, we end this process united in our belief that the nation's fiscal crisis must be addressed and that we cannot leave it for the next generation to solve."

President Obama, on the other hand, laid the blame on the Republicans. "There are still too many Republicans in Congress who have refused to listen to the voices of reason and compromise that are coming from outside of Washington," Obama said.

"One way or another, we will be trimming the deficit by a total of at least $2.2 trillion over the next 10 years," Obama said. "They've still got a year to figure it out."

The president declared he will step in and veto any efforts to get rid of the automatic spending cuts that would come in 2013.  He warned though, “There will be no easy off-ramps on this one."

The Associated Press contributed to this story.

One purpose of this nniidect was to expand the No Fly list (like Nixon's enemy list). These people can now be declared "not a person" and arrested without due process. He is right that it was planned.a.The United States Supreme Court, in a one-line ruling, declared that torture is an “ordinary, expected consequence of military detention”, and stated that anyone who is arbitrarily declared a “suspected enemy combatant” by President Obama or his designated officials is “no longer a person.” b.Executive Order [Executive Order 13524/US Federal Register/Vol.74, No. 243/Monday, December 21, 2009/Presidential Documents 67803] granting unlimited power to the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) to not only begin arresting American citizens and sending them to overseas prison camps, but also giving to them “unconditional immunity” from all US laws. c.Executive Order 13524 he further states that the “property and assets of international organizations, wherever located and by whomsoever held, shall be immune from search, unless such immunity be expressly waived, and from confiscation. The archives of international organizations shall be inviolable”.
