USC Launches 'We Are Considerate' Campaign

USC announced a new campaign on Tuesday in an effort to improve bike safety and to encourage riders to develop more courteous bike behavior.

USC announced a new campaign on Tuesday in an effort to improve bike safety and to encourage riders to develop more courteous bike behavior.

In an email sent to students on Tuesday, Vice President of Student Affairs Michael L. Jackson said the initial foray "will focus on safety and consideration of one another as we navigate our University Park Campus, particularly on bikes and skateboards."

"We have engaged in a multi-year discussion regarding how to preserve a safer and user-friendly setting for everyone, including pedestrians, riders, and drivers," Jackson said.

USC has enacted several guidelines effective this month, which will be posted throughout campus. Among these, bikers will be asked to walk their bikes in heavily-trafficked areas; namely Trousdale Parkway, Childs Way, and near the Lyon Center.  In addition, any bike not locked to a bike rack or parked in front of a handicap ramp or building entrance will be impounded.

You do know the person in the video is not Vice President Michael Jackson, but rather a DPS Captain?
