USC Student Hit By Car

The accident occurred across the street from the University Gateway housing complex.

A USC student was hit by a car on the northeast corner of Figueroa and Jefferson, according to LAPD.  The accident occured at about 5:50 p.m on Sunday. 

A witness said the light was green when the accident occured. Police and DPS officers quickly arrived on scene, where the student was laying on the sidewalk.  The student remained conscious as the paramedics stabilized her leg and took her to the hospital.

The driver, who appeared to be in his late 40s to early 50s, stayed on scene to give the officers his information.
