Smartphones to Dwindle Long Pharmacy Lines on Campus

A new phone application will make getting prescriptions easier for USC students and faculty.

The USC Pharmacy is in the process of creating a new application that aims to change the way USC students and faculty refill their prescriptions.

The web-based application will allow customers to access their accounts from any computer or smartphone to refill prescriptions and check on existing orders.

This application will streamline the process and take it all online according to Mike Rudolph, Executive Director of Community Practice.

"We at USC pharmacies understand that USC [students and] staff are I.T. savvy," said Rudolph.

The electronic alternative will even have a built-in alert system that notifies the user when their prescription is available in an effort to reduce long lines and wait times.

Developers have begun testing the application now and hope it up and running within the next month. It will be available for iPhone and Android users to download for free from the respective app stores.
