The girl managed to break free from the man by biting his hand, running away, and screaming at the man as he chased her. Authorities say that the girl was standing in her driveway at 6:45 p.m. when a white male walked up to her, covered her mouth with his hand and carried her to the side of her home where he allegedly sexually assaulted her.

One of the girl's neighbors across the street witnessed the man chasing the girl and screamed as well.

According to the news release, the man then ran away and drove off in a 2005 or newer burgundy Nissan Altima with paper license plates reading, "Wondries" in black and neon letters.

Both the girl and the exact location of the crime remain anonymous.

Anyone with more information on the crime is urged to call Covina police detectives at (626) 384-5623.
