Three Car Collision Next to University Village

Three car collision next to the University Village by campus.

A three car collision occurred on the corner of Hoover St. and Jefferson Blvd at about 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, involving two USC students and two men.

The male and female USC students were cut off and their car swerved onto the sidewalk closest to campus on Jefferson Blvd.

The other two cars collided head on on Hoover St. Police arrived on the scene and questioned the USC students, the two middle aged male drivers, and another USC student in a Jeep who narrowly missed the collision.

According to the male USC student involved in the crash, one of the other drivers "ran the red light and hit us, and we just swerved across the street. [The female passenger]'s finger hurts, and my leg hurts." One of the other adult male drivers reported feeling light headed, but there were no other injuries.

According to Travis Shirley, the driver who narrowly avoided the crash, he was waiting to turn at the red light when the car being driven by USC students was cut off and swerved onto the curb.

"I was not hit, but some debris came into my car," said Shirley. "From my perspective, I was thinking, I'm getting hit. The white car sounded like he lost control of the car."

Police are cleaning up the intersection, which was covered in glass, and other pieces of debris from the collisions.
