Zsa Zsa Gabor's Daughter Files Conservatorship Plea
As the health of famed actress and socialite Zsa Zsa Gabor continues to decline, the tempers of her daughter and current husband continue to flare.
Francesca Hilton, Gabor’s only daughter from her 2nd of nine husbands, recently filed a petition for conservatorship in court, citing a need for conservatorship over her mother’s assets and medical care.
In the document, Hilton cites that Gabor’s current husband, Prince Frederic von Anhalt, has kept her mother heavily sedated and isolated over the past two years.
Gabor's daughter stresses that she used to call her mother multiple times per day until Gabor’s hip replacement and later amputation.
Since then, Hilton has expressed pain and worry for her mother under the care of von Anhalt.
"He's basically taken my mother away from me," Hilton said.
In her statement to the Superior Court she wrote that by isolating Gabor not only does her current husband "deprive her of my love and companionship, but he goes against estate planning documents that appear to reflect her wishes that he not be in sole control of her affairs."
The suit also calls into question the status of Gabor’s $10 million mansion, which was reportedly being foreclosed, after Von Anhalt recently secured a $700,000 loan from the property, then soon after quit making payments on it.
His explanation for the mansion’s status is that Gabor's rapidly declining health has caused soaring medical bills, over $30,000 a month, while her income is only $6,000 a month, making it necessary to sell the house.
Additionally, Zsa Zsa also has over $6 million in debt.
Von Anhalt has deemed the whole suit preposterous.
"It's probably her last card she's playing now. It's all about money. She's afraid, her mother passing away eventually, and there's nothing," he rebutted.
He later invited the court into his house.
"I want the court to see how comfortable my wife is," he said.
Hilton’s lawyer Kenneth Kossoff refuted the allegation, citing that the entire purpose of the conservatorship would be to make sure that Gabor’s money is "being spent in her best interests.”
The first hearing will be on May 2, 2012, before Superior Court Judge Reva Goetz, the same judge who ruled on Britney Spears' conservatorship.
