Hoover Street will be closed to vehicles Wednesday through Monday, April 9 while the Department of Public Safety hosts a Cadet Carnival.

Northbound and southbound lanes from Jefferson Boulevard to 28th Street will be closed to traffic entirely, while lanes from Adams Boulevard to 28th Street will be closed intermittently.

Residents of the latter stretch will be have limited perimeter access only.

Pedestrian traffic will not be affected by the closures, however parking will be banned and Metro buses will be re-routed starting Wednesday at noon. Click here to check the revised Metro timetables.

The closures, which will last until 6 a.m. Monday, will also affect the USC bus system, with routes B, C, Intercampus, and Union Station expected to have up to 15 minute delays. Furthermore, routes B and C may not have access to some of the stops. Click here to check for updates on the USC Bus system.

Street closures may be subject to change as the weekend festivities progress.  All updates will be posted under the News and Traffic Alerts section of the DPS website.

For any questions about the closures or the Cadet Carnival, call the DPS office at (213) 740–6000.
