Mayor, Nikias to Hold Conference on Campus Safety

The conference is being held in response to the recent shootings near campus.

The conference is being held in response to the recent shootings near campus.

The first shooting occured two weeks ago in which two international grad students, Ming Qu and Ying Wu, were shot and killed on Raymond Ave. Qu and Wu were found by police in their car around 1 a.m. on April 11. A $125 thousand reward is being offered for any information on the suspect.

The second shooting occurred last week right off campus on 28th and Figueroa, in which DPS officers shot a suspect who attempted to rob several students.

The conference will be held at Town and Gown at 9 a.m.
