Memorial for Victims of West Adams Shooting

Friends reflect on Ying Wu and Ming Qu's contributions to the community.

Students and faculty held a memorial Thursday night for Ying Wu and Ming Qu, two graduate students who were shot at West Adams.

Ying's friends on Facebook posted on her wall, writing, "We will miss you," and "I will give your picture to your parents."

Outside Ying's house, students gathered to sign a book for the victims' parents. Students say they remember Ying as a hardworking student.

Jah describes Ying as smart and frugal. He says she shared a room with another girl and worked at the book store part-time.

As assets to the community, both students will be deeply missed.

The Viterbi School of Engineering will host a Town Hall meeting tomorrow for students to publicly voice their concerns.
