USC Holds Open Forum Discussion

Students are urged to voice their concerns about the Raymond Avenue shootings.

The USC International Students' Assembly will hold an open forum discussion Monday evening to address the shootings of USC graduate students Ying Wu and Ming Qu.

USC students are invited to attend and raise any questions or concerns that they may have about what next steps are being taken by the University.

The ISA says that the invitation to attend is not limited to international students and that they want to establish a "free atmosphere" for those who want to speak up.  The student organization is therefore restricting all forms of media from attending the event.

"We plan to unite the entire student body including various student organizations, the Undergraduate Student Government and the Graduate Student Government so that the entire student population can be represented and heard by the University," The International Students' Assembly stated on their Facebook page.

Vice President of Student Affairs Dr. Michael Jackson is confirmed to attend the event in addition to Director of USC Transportation Tony Mazza, Director of Campus Activities Heather Larabee, Executive Director of International Services Tony Tambascia, International Student Advisor Becky Peterson and several DPS representatives. Additional administrators and LAPD are yet to be confirmed.

The event was put together with the support of USC's Chinese Students and Scholars Association, Annenberg Chinese Student and Alumni Association, Chinese Student Association, Chinese American Student Association, Global China Connection, Hong Kong Student Association, and Taiwanese Student Association groups.

The event will be held at 6 p.m. in USC's Ronald Tutor Campus Center, Room 450. Students are required to bring their USC Student IDs.
