Resident Revives Poem to Remember Riots Anniversary
South L.A. resident Hendy Foote recited a poem he called "No Justice, No Peace" Sunday at the Community Coalition's rally to commemorate the Rodney King riots. He said he first wrote and read it 20 years ago in Simi Valley, right before the verdict in the Rodney King trial was to be read.
The poem's title plays off a common chant used by protesters during the riots--"No justice, no peace, don't trust the police."
