Trayvon Martin's Parents Hold Rally

Marking the two-month anniversary since Trayvon Martin's death, the rally will bring together Martin's family, civil rights leaders, celebrities.

Trayvon Martin's parents will organize a rally Thursday evening at the West Los Angeles Church in Christ to commemorate the two-month anniversary since their son's death.

The goal of the rally is to raise awareness about the racial profiling that affects innocent civilians, according to the NAACP.

Martin's family members, public figures, and civil rights activists will attend the event, including NAACP President and CEO Benjamin Todd Jealous, Reverend Al Sharpton, Reverend Jesse Jackson, and Bishop Charles Blake who is a church preacher.

Stevie Wonder, Chaka Kahn, David Banner, Paul Rodriguez, radio host Big Boy, and Magic Johnson are also expected to attend.

Neighborhood watch captain George Zimmerman shot and killed Martin on account of Florida's "Stand Your Ground" Law. His case is gaining widespread national attention, as people believe Zimmerman identified Martin as a threat because he was African-American.

The rally will begin at 5:30 pm today at:

West Los Angeles Church in Christ

3045 Crenshaw Boulevard

Los Angeles, CA 90016
