Fountains Drained Ahead of Senior Run

The fountains in front of Doheny and between Bing Theatre and Norris Theatre were seen without water.

Many fountains on campus were drained Thursday before the commencement of the traditional 10 p.m. fountain run for graduating seniors.

The two fountains seen without water were the ones in front of Doheny and between Bing Theatre and Norris Theatre. They have not been re-filled.

Leavey's fountain was drained for the L.A. Festival of Books, but the fountain was cleaned and restored afterwards.

Last year, the fountain in front of Doheny suffered damage due to students standing in the fountain and ruining the statue.

Although many students expressed their discontent, they said that the lack of water will not prevent the fountain run from happening.

"If they're going to try to prevent it without even telling us anything, just taking out the water, I don't think that's going to fly," Andrea Vancura, a graduating senior, said.
