Chick-fil-A Responds to Funding Controversy

Fast-food chain Chick-fil-A released a statement Thursday saying they will no longer support political or social agendas.

“For many months now, Chick-fil-A’s corporate giving has been mischaracterized,” read the statement that was posted on the company’s website.  “For that reason, we want to provide some context and clarity around who we are, what we believe and our priorities in relation to corporate giving.”

The company came under fire this summer when President Dan Cathy spoke out against gay marriage.

It remains unclear whether or not the organization will pull their funding from groups such as Focus on the Family and the National Organization for Marriage, which oppose gay unions.
